The National Association of Scholars is an independent membership association of academics working to foster academic freedom, and to sustain the tradition of reasoned scholarship and civil debate in America’s colleges and universities. The Rhode Island chapter of NAS is comprised of educators, scholars, and policy analysts who regard the Western intellectual heritage as an indispensable foundation of American education and civic engagement. We are committed to defending intellectual diversity and to opposing all forms of political indoctrination and political “correctness” in education and public affairs.
